Neurosurgery Outreach Programme at Nyeri Provincial Hospital.

Occurs every 3rd weekend of the month.This helps to bring Neurosurgical services closer to people in central Kenya and as far as Nakuru and Isiolo. We conduct a clinic and perform operations on

* children with hydrocephalus and spina Bifida
* Superficial brain tumours
* Spinal diseases.

It is a collaboration with Kenyatta National Hospital and Ministry of health.

Road safety campaigns.

The death toll on our roads up to 1989 - 1998 was 3000 annual. This figure decreased slightly to 2000 with Onset of the famous Michuki rules and a concerted effort from other campaigners. It is saddening to note that this figure is back to the 3000 mark.Hill healthcare eneavours to compliment the road safety campaign by drawing on the expertee and resource mobilization at its disposal.

Tips on Road Safety

Avoid

* Over speeding and overloading.
* Drunk driving, fatigue driving, epileptic driving.
* Quarreling with spouse while driving.
* Eating or drinking.
* Use of mobile phone.
* Using unroad worthy vehicles.NB School transport vehicles.

ALWAYS

* Fasten safety belt.
* Do a quick vehicle safety check i.e. Insurance, Brakes, Tyres and Tyre pressure.
* Have a "Baby seat" if child less than 3 years.
* Designated driver if going out for a drink.
* Respect pedestrian crossings.

CYCLISTS

*ALWAYS Wear Reflective Clothing.

ENVIROMENT

* Dispose your Litter/Waste in designated areas.
* Plant a tree wherever you have a chance.
